Argentina / ENACOM
ENACOM Resolution 57/2026 replaced the old homologation procedure for telecom equipment with a new RAMATEL regulation, new certification agencies and a new laboratory register. Resolution 843/2026, published on 28th August 2026, pushed the start of the new regulation from 1st September to 1st December 2026, and until then registrations run under the old rules.

Resolution 57/2026 approved a new regulation for the RAMATEL, Argentina's registry of telecommunications activities and materials, along with regulations for a register of test laboratories and a register of certification agencies. Its Article 13 said the new RAMATEL regulation would apply from 1st September 2026. ENACOM's own implementation report found that the conditions needed to run it properly were not yet in place, so Resolution 843/2026 substituted Articles 13 and 16: the new regulation enters into force on 1st December 2026, and the older resolutions it replaces, including 729/80, are repealed from that date.
Until 1st December 2026, RAMATEL registrations continue to be processed under Resolution 729/80 and related rules. Resolution 843/2026 gives those registrations a validity of three years, after which they must be adapted to the new regulation or they are cancelled automatically. For a product that has to be on sale in Argentina soon, that means the current route is still open, and the new one is not yet the one you are being assessed against.
These points are taken from the text of Resolution 57/2026 in the Boletín Oficial, and apply from the date the new regulation enters into force.
Any maker of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular or other radio hardware that sells into Argentina, through its own site, a distributor or a marketplace. Check the date your product needs to be on sale. If it is before December, the old procedure is the one to plan around; if it is after, plan for the new regulation. Many summaries still quote 1st September, so confirm with the dated text of Resolution 843/2026 before relying on one.
Resolution ENACOM 57/2026 originally set 1st September 2026. Resolution ENACOM 843/2026, published in the Boletín Oficial on 28th August 2026, replaced Article 13 so that the new RAMATEL regulation enters into force on 1st December 2026. Many summaries written earlier still quote 1st September.
Until 1st December 2026, RAMATEL registrations continue to be processed under Resolution 729/80 and related rules. Under Resolution 843/2026 those registrations are valid for three years, after which they must be adapted to the new regulation or they are cancelled automatically.
Registrations granted under the new regulation have no expiry date (Article 6 of Resolution 57/2026). Existing registrations stay valid for three years and must then conform to the new rules or are deregistered automatically (Article 5).
Yes. Article 10 of Resolution 57/2026 requires telecom equipment sold through web portals to show its RAMATEL registration number in the listing. The duty falls on sellers with their own sites and on portal owners acting as intermediaries.
No. The old procedure under Resolution 729/80 stays open until then, so a product that needs to be on sale in Argentina before December can still be registered under it. The choice between registering now and waiting depends on the product and the timeline, and is worth scoping early.
